BFS-project: Building the bridge between high-throughput omics analyses and novel biomedical knowledge
Institute: Department of Biomedicine
Harald Barsnes, PhD, is the leader of the project “Building the bridge between high-throughput omics analyses and novel biomedical knowledge”. The main focus of the project is the development of user-friendly open-source bioinformatics tools that enable and empower researchers to analyze and share their own biomedical research data.
Barsnes obtained his PhD from the Department of Informatics at the University of Bergen in 2010. He then worked at the Proteomics Unit at the Department of Biomedicine as a postdoc funded by the Research Council of Norway (2011-2014), and as a researcher at the Department of Clinical Science (2014-2016), until starting his own group funded by the Bergen Research Foundation and the Research Council of Norway. In 2015 he received the Meltzer Award for Excellent Young Researchers at the University of Bergen. For more details, please see: http://www.cbu.uib.no/barsnes
