Dr Stephanie Le Hellard is a Professor in Human Genetics at the Faculty of Medicines. She is a core researcher at the Norwegian Centre for Mental Disorders and the K.G. Jebsen Centre for Psychosis Research. She has been affiliated with the University of Bergen since 2006 after a postdoctoral period at the University of Edinburgh, and following her PhD from the University of Montpellier (1998).

Her research interest is to identify risk factors for mental disorders mostly genetic factors and how they interact with the environment so that we can better prevent, diagnose and treat these devastating disorders. She uses epigenetic, molecular genetics and statistical genetics methods.
