Morten Førre
Dr. Morten Førre is professor in atomic physics at the Department of Physics and Technology, University of Bergen. Førre completed his Cand. Scient. Degree in 2000 and was awarded the Dr. Scient. degree in physics at the University of Bergen in 2004. The title of the thesis was “On the dynamics of excited atoms in time dependent electromagnetic fields”. In the period 2004-2008 he held a postdoctoral position at the Department of Physics and Technology. Førre has had three one-year terms as visiting reseracher abroad, respectively, at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Aarhus in 1999, at Laboratoire de Chimie Physique, Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris in the period 2002-2003, and at Centre Lasers Intenses et Applications (CELIA), University of Bordeaux in France, from 2007-2008. He leaded a 4-year BFS project entitled “Super Intense Laser- Molecule Interactions (SILMI)” in the period 2008-2012.
In 2012, after a successful international evaluation, Førre became a full professor at the University of Bergen and is currently working in the field of theoretical physics and quantum mechanics.
