Professor Håvard Haarstad is the principal investigator of the project “European cities as actors in climate and energy transformations”. He is a human geographer, and has his MA (2005) and PhD (2009) degrees from the University of Bergen. He leads the research group SpaceLab, and is director of Centre for Climate and Energy Transformation. His BFS-supported project, which started in 2016, investigates in particular networks and learning between cities, and how cities take ideas from elsewhere and implement them in specific contexts. The project aims to contribute to understanding how cities can promote sustainable development.
