Who Can Receive Funding?
Trond Mohn Research Foundation (TMF) gives grants towards research.
Norwegian universities and university hospitals can receive grants from this foundation. Applications from other institutions, organisations or individuals are not considered.
The foundation invites universities and university hospitals to apply, either through calls for proposals or by direct invitation.

Welcome to Åsta Haukås as a new member of the Trond Mohn Research Foundation´s scientific advisory committee
Professor Åsta Haukås from the University of Bergen´s Department of Foreign Languages has been appointed as new member in the foundation´s scientific advisory committee from March 1st 2024.

From February 1st 2024 the foundation changes its name to Trond Mohn Research Foundation.

New technology in combination with good care aims to improve the quality of life for the elderly
We must be at the forefront technologically, while at the same time retaining the important care for the ever-growing group of elderly people who will be living at home in the future, says the head of a new research center in Bergen, Professor Bettina Husebø. The Trond Mohn Foundation joins forces with the University of Bergen to fund this center with a total of NOK 52 million over the next five years.Focus Areas
Competence
Trond Mohn Research Foundation supports competence building measures at UiB and HUS.
Thematic initiatives
The Foundation contributes to a range of thematic research initiatives e.g. artificial intelligence and medical research.
The Tromsø cooperation
Since 2023 TMF has strengthened the cooperation with Tromsø research foundation and UiT.
