TMS Starting Grant 2022 awarded to Justas Zalieckas

Announcement: Winner of TMS Starting Grant 2022 Dr. Justas Zalieckas

During the annual celebration on December 4th 2022, the Trond Mohn Foundation awarded a TMS Starting Grant to Dr. Justas Zalieckas from the University of Bergen’s Department of Physics and Technology. Zalieckas will further develop his new method for making diamond coatings on three-dimensional surfaces. This can be used, for example, on medical implants.

Zalieckas project is original and has great potential to provide ground-breaking new knowledge, which can also have important applications in society, including within biomedicine. Both the international peer reviewers and the foundation’s scientific advisory committee consider that the research will lead to important results and competence building at UiB, says the foundation’s CEO Sveinung Hole.
