Thomas Arnesen

Dr. Thomas Arnesen is professor at the Department of Molecular Bioloy and the Department of Biomedicine at the University of Bergen. He completed his cand. scient and PhD degrees at UiB in 2002 and 2006, before post-doctoral training at Haukeland University Hospital and the University of Rochester, NY.

He is currently a principal investigator in the Norwegian Cancer Society, a senior researcher at the Department of Surgery HUS, a young associate investigator at the Centre for Molecular Medicine Norway (NCMM), and holds a Toppforsk grant from the Norwegian Research Council and a ERC Consolidator Grant. The focus of his lab is the molecular biology of protein N-terminal acetylation and N-terminal acetyltransferases (NATs), and in particular elucidating the physiological and clinical importance of NATs.
