Eivind Valen leads a research group at the Computational Biology Unit and the Sars Centre. His lab spans experimental and computational biology and addresses fundamental questions about how our genes are regulated.
He obtained his PhD from the University of Copenhagen under Albin Sandelin and Anders Krogh. He later received an EMBO and HFSP long term fellowship and moved to Harvard University and The Broad Institute. Here he did a postdoc in the lab of Alex Schier before being recruited to Bergen in 2014.
