Trond Mohn Research Foundation (TMF) gives grants towards research.
Norwegian universities and university hospitals can receive grants from this foundation. Applications from other institutions, organisations or individuals are not considered.
The foundation invites universities and university hospitals to apply, either through calls for proposals or by direct invitation.

Mohn center for neuroprotection opened on 18. February
On Wednesday 18 February, the official opening of the Mohn Centre for Neuroprotection took place in the University Aula. The centre will conduct pioneering research into brain disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and dementia. We would like to thank everyone for a successful gathering and share a few snapshots from the event.
Congratulations on completing your TMF Starting Grant project, Eirik Hovden!
Eirik Hovden is an associate professor specializing in Arabic, Middle Eastern and Islamic studies at the University of Bergen's Department of Foreign Languages. In his TMF Starting Grant project CanCode, Hovden investigated the canonization and codification of Islamic legal texts.

The Foundation contributes to a range of thematic research initiatives e.g. artificial intelligence and medical research.
Since 2023 TMF has strengthened the cooperation with Tromsø research foundation and UiT.
