He then continued to the University of Luxembourg, where\u00a0he worked as a\u00a0\u00a0researcher with the group in probability theory. He recently returned to Bergen\u00a0after a post-doc at Universit\u00e9 Paris-Saclay cofinanced by the Norwegian Research Council and\u00a0the EU\u2019s Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie COFUND program.<\/p>\n<p>In his research, Erlend searches for hidden structures in complicated equations using\u00a0geometry and probability theory. He is also interested in how the information detectable by\u00a0such methods can be computed numerically in the most accurate and efficient way possible.\u00a0He has a special focus on the topic of sub-Riemannian geometry which seeks to understand\u00a0shapes hidden in equations where the outcome of many things are determined by only a few\u00a0underlying factors.
