Competence<\/h1><\/div>[vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]One of the main aims of the Trond Mohn Research Foundation is to support competence building at the University of Bergen (UiB) and at Haukeland University Hospital. The Starting Grant Programme has been the Foundation\u2019s flagship programme right from the start.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]The support to the Toppforsk Programme was a gift to UiB in conjunction with the Foundation\u2019s 10th anniversary. The Foundation also financed a number of other activities, which are presented under Other Competence Building Initiatives.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]\n

Starting Grant programme<\/div>\n

Since Trond Mohn Research Foundation was established in 2004, the University of Bergen has had a unique strategic opportunity to recruit excellent young researchers through the Starting Grant Programme. The Foundation has been instrumental in recruiting over 50 young research leaders to the University of Bergen.<\/p>\n

TMF-UiB career program<\/div>\n

The Trond Mohn Research Foundation has supported the recruitment of young talented researchers to UiB since 2005. The everyday working life of young group leaders in academia has changed over the past ten years and researchers are expected to learn many new skills in areas such as management, strategic thinking, project administration and ethics. Therefore, the TMF-UiB career program was established in 2019.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Other Competence Building Initiatives<\/div>\n

Contributions to research and capacity building in particle therapy, bioinformatics and mathematics helped to build competence in areas of strategic importance to the University of Bergen, the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) and Haukeland University Hospital.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
